STRIDE uses three mountain resorts for adaptive skiing and snowboarding lessons: Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock, MA; Catamount Mountain in Hillsdale, NY; and Ski Sundown, in New Hartford, CT. Our dedicated crew of volunteer coaches come from all over the New York and New England regions to teach over 1300 lessons during the winter to people with both cognitive and physical disabilities.  STRIDE is a PSIA-E member school as well as a member of Disabled Sports USA,  a Paralympic Sport Club, and Special Olympics Training Club.

LESSONS

Private adaptive lessons are offered for 2.5 hours and includes specialized equipment and rentals. Hours of operation are December through April. We offer lessons for Mono-ski, Bi-ski, Visual or Hearing Impaired, Intellectual Disabilities, 3-track or 4-track, and adaptive snowboard. Our program at Catamount Mountain offers lessons on the weekends only.

Please use the SKIING Social Story here -   and SNOWBOARDING Social Story here designed to help your child understand what is going to happen in a ski or snowboarding lesson and how best to prepare for it. Social stories are helpful for kids who need support with transitions and new situations.

Advanced reservations are required with a current STRIDE application on file.

FEES

Each mountain charges a fee.  THESE ARE NOT FEES PAID TO STRIDE.

$50 =  Catamount fee

$60 = Jiminy Peak fee

$75 =  Ski Sundown fee

Shadow tickets are available to accompany a lesson for an additional fee. Inquire about the shadow ticket at the mountain you visit.

TO CANCEL A RESERVATION

To cancel a WEEKNIGHT reservation,  

- Contact Supervisor listed below for the mountain where you made the reservation. 

To cancel a WEEKEND reservation,

- Call the STRIDE office at (518) 598-1279 by no later than noon on Friday.

In the event a cancellation occurs AFTER 12pm on Friday,

- Contact the appropriate Supervisor listed below by ski area.

NOTE:  Please adhere to the cancellation policy.  We may be able to schedule another student in your reserved spot if you are unable to attend. We reserve the right to charge a full price cancellation fee.
