Ski/Snowboard Program
Skiing/Riding is for EVERYONE
STRIDE offers adaptive ski and snowboard lessons at 3 mountain resorts in New England: Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock, MA; Catamount Mountain in Hillsdale, NY; and new last year Titus Mountain in Malone NY. Our volunteer coaches teach over 1500 annual lessons during the winter to individuals with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities. Private adaptive lessons are offered for 2.5 hours which includes specialized equipment / rentals. Lessons run from November to April for mono-ski, bi-ski, ski-bike, visual or hearing impaired, 2-track intellectual disabilities, 3-track, 4-track and adaptive snowboarding. Advanced reservations are required! STRIDE is an official PSIA-E member school as well as a member of Move United, a Paralympic Sports Club, and Special Olympics Training Club.
Want to know more about Adaptive Snowsport Fundamentals for instructing? In 2014, STRIDE produced a national video that is used through Professional Ski Instructors of America for training of adaptive coaches all over the country.
