Whitewater Rafting
Twice a year, a group of adventurous STRIDE athletes meet in North Creek, NY, to ride the rapids of the upper Hudson River. The Hudson River gorge is rated as one of the top 10 whitewater rafting runs in the country!
This is the Hudson River as she used to be – crystal clear, clean, alive, and powerful. Her unbridled whitewater thunders alongside five hundred foot granite cliffs and through awesome rapids such as Givneys’ Rift, the Narrows, Little Nasty, and the Greyhound Bus Stopper.
Since the water conditions are variable in early June, this trip is reserved for athletes with a brave spirit who are at least thirteen years of age and able to swim. Rafters ride the rapids for approximately four hours while wearing wet suits and paddling with seven of their close screaming friends in a raft.
A current (within a calendar year) STRIDE application must be on file at STRIDE to participate. STRIDE reserves the right to charge a full price cancellation fee if you make a reservation and then do not attend.
