iCan Ride in partnership with iCan Shine
The iCan Bike program is designed to teach children with disabilities how to independently ride a two-wheeled bike.
The unique five-day bike riding program is coordinated with iCan Shine’s iCan Bike program (formerly known as Lose the Training Wheels.) The organization provides a fleet of adaptive bikes designed to ensure the success of all riders. The philosophy and technology of the program has impressive evidence for success in youth with Autism and other youth with disabilities. The program is integrated with high school students and community volunteers.
Bikers participate in five 75-minute daily sessions Monday through Friday. Each biker is assigned to a trained volunteer who runs alongside them to ensure safety.
