Get Involved!
Volunteers
Without volunteers, STRIDE wouldn’t be here!
You must be at least 15 years old to volunteer!
We are fortunate to work with over 350 volunteers in every facet of our organization, including:
- Sports instructors in all programs
- Wvent staff
- Ofice professionals
- Corporate volunteer teams & civic organizations
- Fundraising for the mission
- Outdoor clean-up days and so much more!
Contact our office to find out how you or your group can get involved. Our legacy includes volunteers who stay for decades and return year after year!
We are always accepting volunteers, you are what make these programs possible!
If you are over 18 years of age and want to work with children in a long-term capacity in a sport program, volunteers must go through a safety vetting process consisting of the following:
- Fill out a registration form as a volunteer
- Sign liability waivers
- Fill out a background check request. This can be paid for by you as a donation to STRIDE, or we can pay for it for you.
- Any adult 18 or older: Complete Abuse Prevention Training course required by New York State law. Again, this can be paid for by you as a donation to STRIDE, or we can pay for it for you.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact STRIDE Program Director to express interest and receive the links for a background check and Safe Sport training – programs@stride.org
